Did Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan shelve Anurag Kashyap's 'Gulab Jamun'?

It seems like the fans have to wait longer to see the off-screen couple, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan to reunite on-screen. The couple was last seen together sharing the screen space in the 2010 Mani Ratnam film 'Raavan'. Fans were much delighted when it was reported last year that Aishwarya and Abhishek will be teaming up for Anurag Kashyap's next film titled 'Gulab Jamun'. But according to the latest reports, the couple has opted out of the film and the movie might have been shelved.
The duo has even talked about the film during various media interactions.Reportedly, Aishwarya and Abhishek decided to not do a film together in which they play lovers. Abhishek romancing Aishwarya would not work with the audience. Also, the couple wants the film to be a story of a relationship that goes beyond courtship.
Abhishek and Aishwarya have impressed us many times with their on-screen chemistry. The couple has worked in many films together including 'Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke', 'Kuch Naa Kaho' and 'Guru'.
On the work front, Abhishek was last seen in Anurag Kashyap's 'Manmarziyaan' starring alongside Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu, which garnered him a lot of praise for his performance. Aishwarya was last seen in 'Fanney Khan' alongside Rajkummar Rao and Anil Kapoor.
