TRIGGER WARNING: This article includes references to sexual abuse.
Ranveer Singh starrer ‘Dhurandhar’ has been garnering praise from left, right, and center. Impressively enough, it is not just the lead stars who are gaining popularity and love, but every actor and character has hogged the limelight. Like Lulli aka Naseem Mughal, whose assault scene with Ranveer Singh, during the opening segment of the movie. The scene went viral in no time owing to its intensity, and everyone was curious to know about the artists who played such a brutal role. However, did you know Naseem Mughal was so uncomfortable before shooting the viral scene that he actually refused the offer after reading the scene?
The actor declined the offer, saying, “‘This won’t be possible for me,’ because after reading the scene so many times, I got really nervous. The truth is, I’m a huge fan of Ranveer sir. His energy, especially since ‘Padmaavat,’ has always been incredible. Somewhere in my subconscious, I kept thinking, “He’s such a big star, how am I supposed to do this scene in front of him?’”
The message was then conveyed to the ‘Dhurandhar’ team. However, the men behind the making of the film spoke to Naseem and made him comfortable. The actor now thanks the entire team for their efforts.
He added, “I had been searching for a moment like this for a long time. For the last 13 years, I was waiting for this moment in my life, when it would finally come.”
He said, “Before that scene, we had another scene together—the dhaba scene, when we go to Alam’s shop, where Babu is our boss. Before that scene itself, he made me feel so comfortable that I kept thinking, ‘Am I really working with Ranveer?’”
The actor continued, “He never makes you feel that he’s a big star. The energy he brings. He is very down-to-earth. The way he talks, he always hugs you first. That hug alone makes you feel comfortable.”
Naseem shared how Ranveer also guided him and said, “He talks about the character, explains things, and if he feels I’m going off-track or stepping out of the character, he gently brings me back, telling me what to do, what not to do, what works better. So thank you, Ranveer bhai. You’re great.”
