'Dhurandhar' actress Sara Arjun’s father Raj Arjun pens emotional note: 'I thought I was raising her, but she was raising me'

Actor Raj Arjun has penned an emotional note amid the success of 'Dhurandhar' where his daughter Sara Arjun is playing the female lead. Raj revealed in his Instagram note that the driving force behind his success is none other than his daughter Sara. He wrote that while parents often believe they are shaping their children, life eventually shows that it is the children who shape their parents.

In his words, “एक बाप, एक फ़नकार… और दो सपनों का सफ़र” (“One father, one artist… and the journey of two dreams”).


Raj recalled his initial years in Mumbai when survival revolved around two things and that were the hunger for art and faith in himself. He had no identity, no contacts, and faced continuous rejections. But everything changed with the arrival of Sara in 2005 who became the unexpected light that reignited his inner fire.

Raj Arjun reached his destination because of his daughter

In his heartfelt note, Raj Arjun wrote that he had always heard “बेटियाँ नियामत होती हैं” (Daughters are blessings), but he truly understood it only after Sara entered his life. Soon after her birth, he landed his first lead role in Ram Gopal Varma’s Shabri. Though the film got delayed, he shared that Sara never allowed his passion to fade. The actor emotionally wrote, “अगर वो रूह मेरी ज़िंदगी में न आती, तो आज मैं वो इंसान भी न होता… और वो फ़नकार भी नहीं बन पाता।”

Even during difficult phases when work halted and the path ahead seemed unclear, he stayed strong for his daughter, but in reality, she was the one holding him together.

Sara Arjun’s rising stardom

Sara Arjun, known nationwide as the beloved child artist from Deiva Thirumagal, has now stepped into Bollywood with a powerful performance in Dhurandhar at just 20. Playing Yaalina Jamil, the onscreen wife of Ranveer Singh, she has earned praise for her maturity, depth, and screen presence. As Raj beautifully put it, “I didn’t build her path… I walked beside her. I only said — ‘Dream your dreams, I am right behind you.’”
