Dharmendra who recently had a fantastic 87th birthday called up Saira Banu, a couple of days ago. Dharmendra who idolises Dilip Kumar has kept in touch with Saira Banu and he respects her a lot.
ETimes has it that Dharmendra wanted to visit the Dilip Kumar festival and see a couple of the movies that are being screened since yesterday. Dharmendra told Saira Banu that he dearly wanted to come and be a part of the audience but could not make it as he has to urgently go to Delhi for some work.
Saira Banu was overwhelmed and told him not to worry.
Last evening, we saw several celebrities at Mumbai's Juhu PVR- Waheeda Rehman, Asha Parekh, Ramesh Sippy, Kiran Juneja, Prem Chopra, Siddharth Roy Kapur, R Balki, Poonam Sinha to name a few. Saira Banu was leading the occasion that coincides with Dilip Kumar's 100th birthday today.
The films that are being screened are- 'Aan', 'Devdas', 'Shakti' and 'Ram Aur Shyam'. Talking to us yesterday, Saira Banu had said that it is a great event but she wished that it had been longer, showcasing more films of Dilip Kumar. Waheeda Rehman, Ramesh Sippy, Balki, Asha Parekh and many others paid their tributes in short speeches inside the auditorium.
