Dhanashree Verma gives out a strong message for women post divorce with Yuzvendra Chahal: 'You can still pick yourselves'
Dhanashree Verma and Yuzvendra Chahal tied the knot in 2020 but they got divorced this year. In February, they filed a joint petition in Bandra family court and they parted ways with mutual consent. They also requested the court to remove the mandatory six month waiting period. They wanted all the formalities to finish right before IPL began this year, so that the cricketer can just pay attention to it.
Meanwhile, at the moment, Dhanashree is seen a lot more, doing more work. She's a part of the reality show 'Rise And Fall'. During one of the episodes, Verma opened up on the message she wants to give out to women after her divorce. She was seen talking to Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh and journalist Nayandeep Rakshit. Dhanashree asked Nayandeep why he had approached her for an interview after her divorce and he said it's because the show had different women in every episode. Responding to it, Verma said, "Main agar thore bhi logo ko inspire kar du na ki itna sab hone ke baad bhi I am strong aur mai phir bhi kaam kar rahi hoon. Maine mera kaam nahin roka hai. Mai wahi kar rahi hu, infact aur bhi jyada mehnat karke kar rahi hu. (If I can inspire even a few people that even after all this, I am strong and I am still working. I haven’t stopped working. I am still doing the same thing. In fact, I am working even harder.)"
“Uska impact aisa ho ki mai inspire karu baki saari women ko ki nahi boss, you can still pick yourselves up. Aap fir bhi aage badh sakte ho. In fact, aap aur bhi tezi se aage badh sakte ho (Its impact should be such that I inspire all the other women that no boss you can still pick yourself up. You can still move ahead. In fact, you can move ahead even faster)," she added.
On the show, Dhanashree also took some subtle digs at Chahal. She said that when two people have been married, even after they are divorced, it's their responsibility to take care and give each other the respect which is needed. She said this, referring to the comments made by Chahal on Raj Shamani's podcast where he revealed why he wore a t-shirt which said, 'Be your own sugar daddy'.
