After starring in ‘Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi!’, ‘Beyond the Clouds’ and box-office hit ‘Dhadak’, reports of actor
Ishaan Khatter being offered the biopic on freedom fighter Birsa Munda have been doing the rounds.
According to a source quoted by a news publication, Ishaan has decided to go ahead with the film after hearing the narration. “The film is currently working out all the modalities,” adds the source.
The article also mentioned that the film will be directed by south filmmaker Pa Ranjith, who will mark his Bollywood debut with this biopic. As
Birsa Munda died at a young age of 25, the makers are looking for a young hero to play this role.
A tribal freedom fighter, religious leader and folk hero, Birsa Munda led an Indian tribal religious Millenarian movement in the late 19th century during the British Raj, making him an inspirational icon. According to reports, he is the only tribal leader whose portrait is featured in the Indian Parliament Museum.
While we wait for the official announcement, fans already look forward to Ishaan’s all-new avatar in director Pa Ranjith’s upcoming biopic on the great freedom fighter.
