In the viral clip, Dua was seen sitting on her mother Deepika’s lap, with her face clearly visible for the first time. The footage also captures a visibly uncomfortable and upset Deepika asking the person behind the camera to stop recording the clip, as it gave a full view of her daughter.

However, as the post was rapidly shared across platforms, many fans stepped up to condemn the uploader. One fan urged, “Hey please delete the video as both Ranveer and Deepika have strictly restricted pictures of their daughter.” Another wrote, “I don’t think you should be posting this, especially if the parents haven’t given consent. Doesn’t matter if she’s a celeb baby—she’s too young and this is morally wrong.” A third added, “Deepika specifically said she doesn’t want her child’s face out there and yet a so called “ fan” felt the need to video it even though you can see Dp not happy in the clip and you still shared it anyway.”

This incident also drew parallels with Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s repeated struggles to protect the privacy of their children, Vamika and Akaay. Despite the couple’s clear requests to fans and the media not to share pictures of their kids, photos and clips have often surfaced online, sparking similar backlash. As one X user commented, “First Vamika and now Dua. Why can’t people respect parents’ wishes?”
