Born in Copenhagen and raised in Bangalore, Deepika is the daughter of famous badminton player Prakash Padukone and Ujjala. Prior to her moddeling career, Deepika played badminton in national level championships. She made her acting debut in 2006 as the title character of the Kannada film Aishwarya. Her first

The 2012 box office hit Cocktail marked a turning point in Deepika's career. Some of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of Deepika Padukone includes Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013), Chennai Express (2013), Happy New Year (2014), Bajirao Mastani (2015) and Piku (2015).

The 2017 action film, xXx: Return of Xander Cage, marked Hollywood debut of Deepika. Her upcoming Bollywood movie is epic drama ‘Padmavati’.
