'Dear Maya' trailer: Manisha Koirala is a woman in search of love in this poignant tale?

After a long hiatus, Manisha Koirala is back on the silver screen with director Sunaina Bhatnagar's next 'Dear Maya'. The trailer of the film which was launched online recently has already piqued the curiosity of the audience with its grim and gritty storyline.

The trailer sees two schoolgirls trying to get a local woman, Maya (played by Manisha) to step out of the four walls of her rickety house.By ghostwriting love-letter from one of the suitors she met 20 years ago, the two girls innocently try to bring joy, love and light to Maya's otherwise dull and lonely life. While their letters seem to do the trick and gets Maya out of her shell, things take an ugly turn when she sells all her belongings to go to Delhi in search of this mystery man.
The trailer gives away the prime plot, but with such an intriguing story at the heart of the matter, we can only see this working in its favour.
Manisha, who was one of the top actresses of the 90’s and was greatly appreciated for her performance in films like ‘Khamoshi: The Musical’, ‘1942: A Love Story’, ‘Bombay’ among others, took a break from the big screen to fight her battle with cancer.
The film is scheduled to hit theatre screens on June 2, 2017.
