Darshan Kumaar reveals Anushka Sharma and Priyanka Chopra once argued about him during Dil Dhadakne Do: ‘She said I’m rude’
Darshan Kumaar, who played the menacing antagonist Satbir in NH10 (2015) opposite Anushka Sharma, recently recalled how the actress once had an argument with Priyanka Chopra about him. At the time, Darshan was juggling two drastically different roles—Anushka’s violent on-screen tormentor in NH10 and Mary Kom’s supportive husband Onler in Priyanka Chopra’s Mary Kom.
Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, Darshan revealed he wasn’t nervous about performing violent scenes with Anushka, despite her being the film’s producer. “I had to drag her by the hair from the room to outside and throw her. I used technique—I didn’t hold her tightly but showed that energy. But she told me, ‘Ache se pakad aur kheench (Hold tightly and pull properly)’. She wanted to feel the force to bring it out in her expressions. The second time, I held her with a tight grip, she even felt pain, but the scene came out beautifully.”
Recalling how Priyanka and Anushka later discussed him during the shoot of Dil Dhadakne Do, Darshan said, “Priyanka told Anushka, ‘Darshan is sweet, hardworking, a good actor.’ Anushka replied, ‘Kahan? (Where). I haven’t seen a more rude person than him.’ They actually argued over me.”
He explained why Anushka saw him that way: “I was Satbir at that time, I never greeted her. It was part of my process. She must have thought I had an attitude. She even joked, ‘Climax mein ise ache se rod maarungi.’ Later, during promotions in Delhi, she realised I’m very sweet. I told her I was just in character.”
Darshan admitted it wasn’t easy balancing Satbir’s brutality with Onler Kom’s gentleness. “It was very tough. But as an actor, that’s the thrill. I didn’t want to move schedules. I’m not such a big star that dates would be changed for me,” he shared.

Playing two extremes at once
