To be or not to be, that is the question that the makers of “Dabangg 2” would have to seriously consider about shooting parts of the movie in Lucknow and Kanpur, as per plan. For, on his recent visit to Lucknow, Salman Khan was met by an overzealous crowd that threatened to turn into a mob. And had it not been for his super-tight security, there was little to curtail the fan frenzy.
A press interaction with the actor had to be cancelled because scores of fans gatecrashed the meet, and the actor had to be led back into his hotel room through a secret passage.
When asked about the shooting schedule in UP for “
Dabangg 2”, the actor expressed serious doubts that they would go ahead with the plans after what he witnessed in Lucknow. “The story is based in UP, and we are supposed to come here to shoot, but I’m not sure now,” said Salman, with eyes widening in consternation at the day’s events. “We would want to, but after today, we’ll have to think about it,” he shrugged in answer.
Suggestions that some help from the powers that be could ease the problem were met with trademark Sallu swagger. “We don’t need anyone’s backing. If we do come, we’ll come with our own backing,” he replied, but softened to add, “You see, we don’t want to inconvenience the people. If we do shoot here, it’s going to be difficult for everyone.”
