Coolie star Rajinikanth calls Aamir Khan a 'legend', says he stands tall among Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan: 'Just like Kamal Haasan...'

Rajinikanth’s much-anticipated 171st film, Coolie, is all set to hit theaters this weekend, bringing together a star-studded cast that has generated huge excitement among fans. At a grand pre-release event in Chennai, the Superstar opened up about his experience working with director Lokesh Kanagaraj and shared heartfelt praise for co-star Aamir Khan.

Rajinikanth praises Aamir Khan as a true legend

The megastar drew a comparison between Aamir and Kamal Haasan, highlighting that just as Kamal Haasan is a revered figure in Tamil Nadu, Aamir Khan holds a similar status in northern India. He also praised Aamir as the standout among Bollywood’s three Khans—Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Aamir Khan—acknowledging him as a legendary figure in the industry.




He also spoke about each actor individually and humorously added that seeing the entire star cast was so overwhelming that he momentarily forgot the film’s story.

Aamir Khan joins Coolie without hearing the script

When Aamir took the stage, he revealed that he agreed to join the film solely because of Rajinikanth, without even hearing the script. He recalled his first meeting with director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who approached him for a role in Coolie. Upon learning it was Rajinikanth’s film, Aamir immediately said yes—marking one of the rare times he accepted a project without reviewing the script.



Coolie also features Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and several others. The film is set to release this weekend, facing off at the box office against War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR.
