Chitrangda Singh: Diljit has given ‘Soorma’ his heart and soul

Chitrangda Singh has been very passionate about producing ‘Soorma’, that is the biopic of Indian hockey ace Sandeep Singh. In the early feedback to the film, cast members Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu are being praised for their performances. Chitrangda feels happy that her maiden production had such a wealth of talented actors. Even though Chitrangda is a remarkable actress, she did not think about working in the movie because the role demanded something specific.And she feels lucky to have signed Taapsee in the lead role. She says, “I never really thought about acting in ‘Soorma’ because the character needed a very specific actor. For the female lead, we needed a young girl who would look athletic and could pull-off sports with authenticity. We were really lucky that Taapsee Pannu agreed to be part of the film. She's a very talented actress and her natural athletic frame made her the perfect choice for the role.”
If the reviews and feedback are anything to go by, Diljit Dosanjh’s performance is the highlight of ‘Soorma’. Talking about the film’s leading man, Chitrangda says, “The innocence and charm that Diljit Dosanjh brings to his characters is phenomenal. He’s a gifted actor and he’s equally hard working. He’s given Soorma his heart and soul and in the process he's really enriched the movie with energy only he could bring in.”
