Chitrangada Singh recalls missing out on films, including a project with Shah Rukh Khan- Read here in details

Chitrangada Singh has delivered memorable performances in several films over the years. From 'Desi Boyz,' 'I, Me Aur Main,' the financial thriller 'Baazaar,' the crime thriller 'Bob Biswas,' and the mystery thriller 'Gaslight,' the actress recently opened up in a conversation about how saying yes to some projects and turning down others led her to miss out on major films that later became big successes.


In an interview with HT, Chitrangada recalled, “I said no to 'Gangs of Wasseypur' (2012). Anurag (filmmaker Kashyap) had come to me for the role that Richa Chadda eventually did," and continued that she not only turned down 'Gangs of Wasseypur' but also 'Tanu Weds Manu,' which Kangana Ranaut later signed. The actress recalled, “(Director) Anand Rai had come to me for the part that Kangana did, and I said no. I think at that time I listened to too many people and made some bad choices."

Missed chance to work with Shah Rukh Khan

Chitrangada Singh went on to recall missing out on a film that would have featured her sharing screen space with Shah Rukh Khan. She shared that the superstar himself later narrated the story to her: “The one I didn’t say no to but still missed was 'Chalte Chalte' (2003) with Shah Rukh Khan. He told me this himself when we were shooting an ad together. He said that they were looking for my number. I had left work for seven or eight years. That’s when it really hits you."

The actress spoke about how people often forget others without a constant reminder and recalled an incident related to it, “Our industry has a very short memory. If you’re not visible enough or aren’t visible for long, they tend to forget. You have to keep reminding people of the work you’ve done and what you’re capable of."

“There are circles you’re not present in, you’re not hobnobbing with certain people, and they tend to forget the work that you’ve done," she added.

Singh’s next big project

Chitrangada Singh is preparing to star alongside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in the upcoming war drama 'Battle of Galwan,' directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The film revisits the intense 2020 'Galwan Valley' clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers, a rare and emotional conflict that unfolded without firearms, as troops engaged in hand-to-hand combat using sticks and stones.
