They got engaged in 2010. A year later, they married in a private civil ceremony at Aamir Khan's home in Pali Hill. In 2014, Avantika gave birth to a baby girl, Imara Malik Khan. The actor openly acknowledged the rumors regarding his romantic involvement with Lekha, confirming their realism. Additionally, Imran addressed the speculations and narratives surrounding his partner, firmly rejecting the image of her being labeled a 'homewrecker.' Expressing frustration over these accusations, Imran clarified that his relationship with Lekha grew during the lockdown, almost a year after his separation from his wife.
