Sushant, who was present at the trailer launch of '

Motu Patlu King of Kings

' at a suburban multiplex, says he has been a comic book lover since his childhood.

"'Motu and Patlu' are very popular characters. While making animated films one has to keep in mind the quality of animation, story and the popularity of characters but what is more important is we need to be careful and intelligent while making films for kids," Sushant told reporters here today.

"We can't take things for granted and make frivolous stuff. We can't take their (kids) intelligence for granted. I want to watch this film," the 30-year-old star said.

This was a cross promotion for the actor as he was present to promote his upcoming film '

M S Dhoni: The Untold Story

'Motu Patlu King of Kings' is produced by Ketan Mehta, who believes things will change in animation industry post the release of the film.

"Animation has not succeeded here in India. Animation is still in its infancy, it's just 15-year-old while in Hollywood it's an 80-year-old tradition. We have a long way to go," Mehta said.

"Now whole generation of children are growing up on animation and they are forcing their parents to come and watch the film with them. I think this film will be a turning point in animation movies here," he added.

The film, which releases on October 14, is the first ever 3D stereoscopic animated movie for Viacom18 Motion Pictures.

"Usually animated films have to contest with big Bollywood films and the regular films. It is releasing on October 14 (and) it's a pre Diwali week when usually big films step back. This time schools are also shut as it's Diwali vacation for kids," said Ajit Andhare, COO, Viacom18 Motion Pictures.

"... We will be releasing it in 700 screens. We have some specific show timings where kids and family can come and watch the film," he added.
