This year the Pujas have come early that is what anyone who is not from Kolkata would have thought had he been around the Bhowanipore area last Saturday evening.
The huge turnout, the sound of dhakis building up a frenzy, the ganda phuler malas decorating the entrance could have misled him into thinking that he was entering a Pujo pandal.

Yes, Bengali movie premieres are coming of age. Even a movie made with a modest budget holds premiere shows, attended by the stars, the directors and the crew members. Sudhu Tomar Jonno too wanted to keep the tradition alive.
The hero, Amitabha Bhattacharya, generated a lot of interest amongst the crowd. We overheard young gals saying, Hero take dekh, ki misti dekhtey.Besides Amitabha, character artistes and the director of the movie, Soorja Saha graced the premiere.
Wonder why Anu Choudhury, Deepankar De Anuradha Roy and Sonalee Chowdhury decided to give the
premiere a miss!
