Picture this: You are on a guided trip around the city and you visit a movie set, where actor Tiger Shroff walks up to you for a friendly chat. Tongue-tied? Don't be. Because this is what happened to a group of tourists at a studio in Bandra, when they were out on a filmi tour recently.

Bollywood tourism in the city isn't about taking selfies outside famous residences like Mannat or Jalsa anymore. Now, film buffs can visit movie sets, dress up as their favourite stars, get insights about how a film is made and even buy interesting cinema-related memorabilia.

The tour kick-starts at a dance studio, where participants shake a leg to peppy Bollywood numbers. 'This is how we welcome our guests. Hindi film songs always add a fun element to the tour. With this activity, tourists not only get to know which are the current chartbusters, but it also works like an ice-breaker,' reveals Eesha Singh, a tour organiser.

Lights, camera' action

Post that, they go to a film studio, where the fun really begins. Participants get a chance to visit the sets of a movie and gain more insight about how a studio functions and various technicalities. They learn about different takes, camera angles, cuts, reel demands etc. People also get a sneak peek into the vast world of filmmaking and are able to meet their favourite actors.

This is a fun activity where people get to dub an iconic movie scene. It's a huge hit among foreign tourists, who love to spout famous dialogues. From 'kitne aadmi the' to 'Mogambo khush hua' it's a laugh riot and everyone else cheers those mouthing the lines, so it's a thoroughly enjoyable experience, informs a guide.

Visiting vintage poster shops

What's a tour without a souvenir? In the end, the group is taken to a local market, where hand-painted film posters are sold. They can choose from a wide variety of vintage posters.
