Bollywood love stories that deserve their own movie—real-life romances worth watching!

Bollywood is literally the hub of telling emotional romantic stories. But there are several other celebrity love stories that have never been presented on-screen, and if such a thing had happened, then it would have surely been worth watching. Here are some of the real-life romances in the Bollywood film industry that deserve their own film.

Bollywood’s King’s real-life romance

Bollywood’s Badshah Shah Rukh Khan is truly an inspiring personality. Apart from his hard work and career success, SRK also has a real-life romance that showcases the fact that once you have your ‘soulmate’ out there, it just takes your effort to get him or her. Gauri Khan once revealed on Koffee With Karan that she temporarily broke up with Shah Rukh Khan due to his possessiveness. Feeling they were too young to commit, she took a break and moved to Mumbai. However, Shah Rukh, deeply in love, borrowed Rs 10,000 from his mother and set off to find her. His search led him to a beach in Mumbai, where he proposed again—only to face rejection.

Initially, Gauri wasn't in favor of Shah Rukh's Bollywood dreams and even prayed for his films to fail so they could move back to Delhi. However, over time, she embraced his passion for cinema and became his strongest support system.

Anushka Sharma thought Virat Kohli was arrogant at first meet

Another real-life love story from Bollywood that could be a sweet romantic drama film is surely Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s. Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s love story began in 2013 during a shampoo advertisement shoot. Speaking to AB de Villiers, Virat admitted he was nervous, kicking off their first conversation in an awkward way by asking Anushka, “Didn't you get anything higher to wear?”—to which she responded with a surprised, “Excuse me?”

Despite the initial hiccup, the two quickly connected. Anushka later revealed that she was drawn to Virat’s sharp memory, joking that it would be useful for her. However, at their first meeting, she initially mistook him for being arrogant—until their conversation changed her mind.

Their relationship took a turn when Anushka invited friends over for dinner to celebrate her new home and asked Virat to join. “That’s where it started,” she recalled, marking the beginning of their love story.

When Ranveer Singh got a ‘440-volt jolt’ from Deepika Padukone

According to the Bollywood Shaadis website, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone met back in the year 2012 during an award show. During the shoot for ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela,’ both started dating. In the first episode of ‘Koffee With Karan’ season 8, Ranveer Singh narrated the path that led to their first feeling of romance. He said that in the film ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela,’ there were plans to cast Kareena Kapoor in the female lead, which was then changed to Deepika. Ranveer revealed that he voted for Deepika as he saw the film ‘Cocktail.’. Ranveer Singh recalled the magical moment he first saw Deepika Padukone at Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s house for a film reading. Dressed in a white chikankari outfit, her hair blowing in the sea breeze, Deepika’s entrance left Ranveer awestruck.

During lunch, Bhansali treated them to exotic delicacies, including crab. Trying to tease Deepika, Ranveer pointed out a piece of crab stuck in her teeth, expecting her to be embarrassed. Instead, she stunned him by casually saying, “Really? Clean it.”

Caught off guard, Ranveer hesitated before using his little finger to remove it—an electrifying moment he described as “like putting my hand in a socket… I felt a 440-volt jolt that day, and I still feel the tremors.”

Ajay Devgn—Kajol

This could be your typical 90s Bollywood film romance where friendship leads to love and marriage. Earlier, Ajay Devgn revealed in a YouTube interview that he met Kajol on the set of the film ‘Hulchul’ in the year 1995. Although their love story was not a meet-cute moment, Ajay Devgn and Kajol developed a friendship as they worked together in many movies, which blossomed into romance. Ajay Devgn said during the interview that everything just went with the flow. Kajol and Ajay Devgn’s real-life romance, mixed with some Bollywood elements, could work well as a reprised version of ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.’.
