Bollywood, the spectacular entertainment industry, has given the audience a way to express their feelings. Sometimes, the death of our beloved artists feels heartwrenching, a loss that feels more than a tragedy. Over the years, the industry has experienced unexpected, shocking demises that left the entire country stunned. Many wept over social media, while others blocked the roads to get the one last glimpse of the artists.

Let’s look at the tragic deaths of Bollywood celebrities that left the country in pain.

Sridevi

Sridevi, the queen of hearts, enchanted the audiences with flair, whether it was dancing or acting skills. The iconic actress ruled for decades with her unmatched aura, and her demise sent a shockwave through the entire country.

The Padma Shri awardee passed away on February 24, 2018, in Dubai when she was 54 years old. Around dawn on February 25, the news of her death spread like a wildfire, which was reportedly due to cardiac arrest. Many of her family members, including Sanjay Kapoor, confirmed the news, and other celebrities and politicians offered condolences, while the entire social media was filled with her memories. However, during the post-mortem by the Dubai officials, it was updated that she died due to accidental drowning in her hotel’s bathtub.

According to the reports, Boney Kapoor invited Sridevi for dinner, and she went to get ready for the same in the bathroom. However, after 15 minutes, he had to force open the door, where he found her unconscious.

Sushant Singh Rajput

Sushant Singh Rajput, the talented actor with impeccable skills, left everyone in a state of shock after the unexpected news of his demise broke out. His versatility made him unforgettable to his fans, whether he acted in a soap opera or mainstream films.

The actor passed away on June 14, 2020, in Bandra when he was 34 years old. According to the reports, he was found hanging at his home. While the police treated the case as suicide, many of his fans alleged that it was murder. Following the widespread speculations, the investigation was set up involving the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to investigate any drug-related activity.

Sushant’s father lodged an FIR against his then-girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, and many public figures for abetment to suicide and financial misappropriation. The investigation saw numerous twists over the years, leading to multiple speculations regarding his death.

Earlier this year, CBI’s closure report stated that there was no evidence to claim the involvement of external forces, marking the end of the investigation.

Sidharth Shukla

Sidharth Shukla, the promising actor and stunning reality star, held a special place in the fans’ hearts with his daring and kind attitude. The actor became a household name after starring in soap operas and significant roles in mainstream cinema.

The ‘Balika Vadhu’ actor passed away on September 2, 2021, in Mumbai, when he was 40 years old. According to the reports, he suffered a massive heart attack. He felt uneasy at night due to the medications he had taken the previous night. In the morning, when his mother tried to wake him up, there was no response. When his mother, his sister, along with other close friends, took him to the Cooper Hospital around 10.30 a.m., Shukla was declared dead on arrival.

The autopsy reports stated that there were no injury marks or evidence of foul play. The funeral happened in Oshiwara, and his beloved fans blocked the roads for his one last glimpse. Many of his celebrity friends, including Shenaaz Gill, Aly Goni, Jay Bhanushali, Rahul Mahajan, Vikas Gupta, Abhinav Shukla, and more, attended his funeral.

Parveen Babi

Parveen Babi, the trailblazing actress, was the ‘IT Girl’ of Bollywood who challenged stereotypes and starred in renowned movies. Her sophisticated elegance and mind-blowing skills left an indelible mark on the film industry.

The ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ actress passed away on January 20, 2005, in Juhu, when she was 50 years old. According to the reports, she suffered multi-organ failure and was found three days after her demise. After claiming the crown in the film industry, her life took a dark turn in the 1980s when she started showing the symptoms of paranoid schizophrenia. The hallucinations and delusions led her to doubt every intricate detail of her life. As she withdrew from public life, she isolated herself, which worsened her mental health.

During the last few years of her life, she used to avoid consuming the food made by others in fear of being poisoned. When the milk, eggs, and newspapers were not from the door for three days, the neighbours informed the authorities.

While her death was due to multi-organ failure, her life was tainted with tragic mental health, according to Money Control.

Divya Bharti

Divya Bharti, the actor renowned for her flawless skills and beauty, was the hopeful young woman who aimed to achieve success. With her talent, she rose to fame at an early age, leaving an indelible mark on the Hindi and Telugu film industries.

The ‘Vishwatma’ actress passed away on April 5, 1993, in Versova, when she was 19 years old. According to the reports, she fell off her balcony from the fifth floor. Throughout the decades, the speculations surrounding her death have never been resolved. While some of her fans believe that it was a suicide, others believe that someone pushed her from the balcony, which had no support. When she was taken to the hospital, she was declared dead upon arrival.

Krishnamurthy Kumar (KK), the singer who captivated the listeners with his notes, was one of the beloved singers of Bollywood. He has sung songs in more than five languages, and continues to be in the playlists, hailing the crown of being a fan favourite.

The ‘Ankhon Mein Teri’ singer passed away on May 31, 2022, in Kolkata, when he was 53 years old. According to the reports, the singer collapsed at his hotel due to a heart attack, hours after his concert. While many questioned whether the unfortunate incident was an unnatural death, the autopsy ruled out the assumptions.

Additionally, the reports stated that the singer suffered from pain in his arms and experienced severe fatigue before the concert, according to India Today. However, the sudden death caused a storm on social media after the news of him experiencing discomfort during the concert broke out, and he complained of not feeling well as he was sweating.
