Bob Marley biopic 'One Love' set to captivate Indian audiences

On Thursday, in collaboration with the High Commission of Jamaica in New Delhi, PVR INOX, India's foremost and most prestigious cinema exhibitor, recently organised an exclusive premiere for Bob Marley biopic One Love at Priya Cinema in Delhi. The film, directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green and produced by Rita Marley (Bob’s widow) and children Ziggy and Cedella Marley, starring Kingsley Ben-Adir, is the first biopic of Bob Marley.

Ajay Bijli, Managing Director, PVR INOX Limited, who is also a renowned singer said,"Reggae, a genre of popular music originating in Jamaica in the late 1960s, swiftly evolved into the nation's predominant musical expression and by the 1970s, it had transcended national boundaries to become an international phenomenon. Notably, reggae anti-colonialist message emerged as a unifying force for colonized communities worldwide. In the context of today's political climate, reggae remains profoundly relevant, especially resonating with oppressed communities globally. The iconic Goa Sunsplash, India's premier reggae celebration, serves as a gateway to the world of reggae, providing an unforgettable experience that celebrates themes of unity, love, and music."

Hall, High Commissioner of Jamaica to India said,"Bob Marley is undoubtedly one of Jamaica’s greatest sons and perhaps the greatest musician of all time, based on the impact of his music inspiring billions around the world, irrespective of race or creed. His message, the embodiment of One Love fighting against oppression, injustice, and inequality, giving voice to the voiceless, calling for peace, unity, and love, is as relevant today as it was back then, over 40 years ago,
perhaps even more so as our planet contends with wars on multiple fronts, the onslaught of climate change."
