Naming films, after successful films of the past, seems to be the trend these days.

There seems to be a mix of superstition and strategy behind this phenomenon according to director Vikram Gandhi.
"Titles of successful films of the past have a great recollection value and raise a certain curiosity among the audience," says Vikram.
He is directing a movie, which is titled after the Chiru starrer, State Rowdy. Sivaji is playing the lead opposite Madhushalini in the film, being produced by JV Uma Maheswara Rao and K Sreenivas.
Interestingly Sivaji has tasted BO success with his previous film, Missamma that is considered to be one of the classics of Telugu cinema. Looks like this trend is here to stay.
