Bips, not just for 'Namesake'

With movies co-starring Rahul Bose or our very own Mithun Chakraborty, Bipasha Basu is now a name to reconcile with.

To play Ashima''s daughter-in-law Moushumi, Mira has approached Bipasha.

"Mira has offered me the role of Gogol''s wife. My role demands me to flaunt an American accent," says Bipasha who, earlier, had refused the role Tabu essayed in Gautam Ghose''s Abar Aranye. But that was after Jism, when her clock-a-block schedule couldn''t fit in 30 days at a stretch of shooting. Now, she will make her debut in Bengali movies with a Buddhadeb Dasgupta film produced by Jhamu Sughand.

"I never wanted to do a Bengali film just for the sake of doing it. I wanted to do a film where my character has multiple shades. The role that has been offered to me is multi-layered. I just hope we can work out the dates so that I can be a part of the project," says Bipasha, who plays Rahul Bose''s wife in the movie.

What also attracts Bips to this Bengali movie is the fact that it features Mithun Chakraborty. "When I was young, I freaked out on Mithun... I''d love to do a film with him where he essays a role like the one he did in Titli." This is what Bipasha had said in an earlier interview. Shooting for this one-schedule film will begin from November.

Well, it''s clock-a-block time again for Bipasha post-Jism. As she puts it: "Mira Nair also wants dates in February and March. I just hope I can work out all the dates and shoot for her film in the US!"
