Biopic on wrestler Sangram Singh

After legendary sportsperson Milkha Singh, it’s Sangram Singh who has attracted the attention of film makers. Interestingly, the wrestler will play his character with his girl friend Payal Rohatagi sharing screen space. The shoot will begin in a month in his hometown Madiana near Rohatk in Haryana.
Readying to act in his biopic, Sangram Singh confirms the news, “Recently very renowned film maker approached me for the film, saying that he is impressed with the way I have carved out a niche in the field of wrestling.I have recently been awarded World’s Best Professional Wrestler award by World Wrestling Professionals in South Africa. They have roped us as the leading pair in the film and the shoot will begin in my hometown Madina.”
Rising high with his recent achievement in wrestling life seems a happy world for wrestler turned actor Sangram Singh who has done few projects for film and television.
“My life has always been full of hardships and struggles. People do not know what I have gone through my years of hardships. Mere pass fitness ke liye koi equipments nahi hote the. Main bina shoes ke race karta tha, kyonki shoes kharid nahi sakta tha. Jab per me chhale pad jate to bar bar pani me per bhigota aur phir se bhagta,” shares Singh.
Having walked the ramp in various fashion shows and seen together on-screen, working together in biopic will be like an icing on the cake for the couple. Payal too is excited. “Films are always my first love. Definitely it would be delighting to work on-screen with Sangram. But at the same time, it won’t be an easy task to bring those emotions that we share in real life,” admits Payal who has high hopes with the project. She further adds, “I want people to see how difficult life has been for Sangram. A wrestler’s career is short-lived and difficult. In our cricket-crazy country, cricketer is treated like hero while a wrestler who dedicates his entire life is not even worthy of support and recognition.”
Definitely career is on the top for the romantic couple, they plan to get hitched in 2013. “At the moment we both are focusing on our careers. It’s just a small life, so we want to enjoy as much as we can. But we do want to take our relationship to the next level. As far as marriage is concerned we plan to settle down by next year,” confirms Sangram. Adding to this Payal says, “We are in a committed relationship and have loyalty for each other. But at the moment career is our prime concern. Both of us have come from humble background and currently want to use all are energies to build our careers.”
