The film and TV industry reacted in shock as veteran actress Vidya Sinha passed away yesterday after battling several health complications. The late actress was a part of several well-known films back in the 70s and 80s and went on to star in TV serials in her later years.
In an interview

recalled the time the two actresses worked together. Goswami said Sinha was her first co-star where the latter played her mother in her debut film, ‘Mukti; in 1977. She said that although the two shot for several scenes together, it was much later that they bonded.

Goswami said that when the two met each other at Amol Palekar’s 70th birthday party, they really hit it off and the friendship developed. She added that Sinha met her warmly despite meeting after so many years and post the party the two would often meet for lunch. She added that Sinha wanted to visit her house for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations., but couldn’t because she was caught up with a shoot that went on longer than expected.
Goswami said she received the news of Sinha’s death from Palekar’s wife. She added that she was unaware that Sinha was unwell. Recalling her friend, Goswami said Sinha had a lovely smile, which is all that she could think of at this moment.
