A non bailable warrant (NBW) has been issued against former Bigg Boss OTT 2 contestant Aaliya Siddiqui. The warrant was issued at the Mumbai civil court, as Aaliya was absent for the proceedings regarding her involvement in a financial fraud. The Andheri court states, “NBW against accused is stayed till next date.”
For the unversed, Aaliya was producing a movie Holy Cow with Manju M Garhwal and had taken money from the latter’s parents in 2019. Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s estranged wife has refused to pay 31 lakhs leading to the NBW.
While talking to us Manju informs, “The issue started in 2019, when Aaliya and I started the movie Holy Cow. I was the co-producer. Aaliya and I have been friends since 2005, so we had a good family equation. However, the movie went into a financial crisis right at the beginning. That is when Aaliya took financial help from my parents. We had a tiff and soon she tried removing me from the movie. After following up on the money, she cleared a few dues. Next when the movie was releasing, I took a legal action against her that is when she gave us a PDC cheque (post-dated cheque). The cheque bounced. She owes us 31 lakhs and 68 thousand. She has stopped responding to my calls, and does not even appear in the court. Even Nawaz does not respond.”
Manju also added have even filed a complaint with the FWICE (Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees).
Aaliya did not respond to our comments.
