Abhishek Kapoor on the headline-making walkout, the legal battle over 'Rock On 2's credit, fatherhood and the 'Mahabharat'
Abhishek Kapoor is relieved after the Bombay High Court ruled in his favour, stating that he should be given credit as a co-writer for the script to the 'Rock On!!' sequel which is currently being shot in Shillong. “I'd like to believe that Farhan (Akhtar)was misled, I hope whenever we meet we can sort this out," says Abhishek, admitting he'd wanted to direct the sequel but couldn't because of the contract he'd signed in 2007, and then to be left out as scriptwriter was a huge disappointment.
“There's no sense of victory, I'm just happy my baby still has my name."

He did his best to look the part and she impressed me with her dedication and desire to do good work," asserts Gattu as he is fondly called.

Rekha's abrupt walkout and he explains that they jammed well together, but during the shoot, they disagreed on a few things and decided this was not a project to collaborate on. “It was disappointing for both of us," he sighs.
Buzz is, he's extended the role of Begum modelled on Miss Havisham after
Tabu replaced Rekha. “Yes, Begum's role has increased after Tabu came, as the character needs a lot more understanding. The general interpretation is that she's crazy but our perception is different," he avers.
Abhishek tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend Pragya early this year and admits that he's yet to absorb the fact that he's a married man now because he's been so busy with the shoot.And now he has to prep up to be a father soon. “I've been reading a few parenting books. All the shopping is done. Now, we're just waiting for the baby to arrive," he smiles. smiles.
Supposedly, Sujoy Ghosh offered him a role in his next film which is about bromance. Gattu admits they were in talks but owing to his family commitments and his 'Fitoor' shoot, things didn't work out.“I've acted before (Aashique Mastane, Uff! Yeh Mohabbat) but I wasn't successful. May be I wasn't good or the time wasn't right. But if something exciting comes up I might give it a shot," he says.
His next project is 'Mahabharat'. They have been developing the script but will start working on it only early next year. “It's not a contemporary take, it's the mythological epic," says Abhishek, who will also foray into film, TV and the digital space as a producer and give an opportunity to new filmmakers.
