'Barfi!' has raised the bar: Aftab Shivdasani

Aftab Shivdasani, whose latest on-screen outing 1920-Evil Returns has fared really well at the box-office, is mighty impressed by Ranbir Kapoor’s performance in Barfi!.
The actor, who was in Vadodara to shoot for the film Grand Masti, tells us, “Barfi! is one film that all of us should be very proud of-it has raised the bar by several notches as far as storytelling is concerned! My respect for Ranbir Kapoor as an actor has grown by leaps and bounds after I watched this film, and Anurag Basu deserves kudos too for the way he has treated the film.Ranbir carried off the role with effortless ease. Also, it was a director’s film in many ways. Such subjects always present a lot of challenges and had the filmmaker slipped even a little, it could have become a very boring film instead of an entertaining one! That’s where Basu’s superb treatment of the story stood out.”
Asked about his personal favorites when it comes to his own films, the actor says, “There are certain films that I am really proud of, like Shukriya, Ankahee, Kasoor and Aao Wish Karein. I know that some of these didn’t do well at the box-office, but I am very proud of these films.”
