Ban lifted from bar dancers inspires film

With the Supreme Court having lifted the ban on bar dancers a film, 'Mumbai Can Dance Sala', based on the life of bar dancers is being made. In fact well known composer and singer Bappi Lahiri has even recorded a song with singer Mamta Sharma.
Director-writer Sachinder Sharma said “Bar dancers were out of work for over seven years and people are not aware how they survived and what they did all this time.As for Bappi Lahiri scoring the music well, we was very popular during the 80s which was dominated by the disco culture. We felt that he was just apt to score music of the film."
Bappi Lahiri said, “The music I am composing is realistic keeping the theme of the film in mind. The lines sung by Mamta Sharma go, 'Make-up Hai, Shake Up Hai, Beauty Kamal Hai, Dekho Jawani KaKaisa Ye Haal Hai' itself mentions pain and pressure of bar dancers.'
