Bahrain-based rapper Flipperachi, voice behind viral ‘FA9LA’, has NOT seen ‘Dhurandhar’ yet due to Gulf ban: ‘I would really like to watch the movie’

The song ‘FA9LA’ from the film ‘Dhurandhar’ has taken social media by storm. From Instagram reels to short videos, the track is everywhere. What has especially caught everyone’s attention is Akshaye Khanna’s dapper dance moves on the song. His moves have become a talking point, with fans and creators recreating the steps online in large numbers.

However, there is a surprising twist to this viral success story. Bahrain-based rapper Flipperachi, who created the song, has not been able to watch the film yet. The reason is simple and unfortunate. ‘Dhurandhar’ has been banned in Gulf countries, including Bahrain, where the rapper is based.

Flipperachi reacts to ‘Dhurandhar’ Gulf ban

Despite the massive popularity of ‘FA9LA’, Flipperachi has only seen clips and reactions from the film. While audiences elsewhere are enjoying ‘Dhurandhar’ in theatres, the rapper is still waiting for a chance to watch the full movie. The ban has not dampened his excitement for the project. In fact, Flipperachi has openly expressed how eager he is to watch the film, especially because of the actors involved.

Talking to NDTV about the situation, Flipperachi shared his honest feelings about the film not being released in the Middle East. He said that he genuinely wants to watch ‘Dhurandhar’ and is hopeful that it might be released in the region someday.

He explained, “Well, I would really like to watch the movie, to be honest. It's an interesting film, and I'd like to see it because I'm a big fan of Akshaye Khanna. We know that he is a very seasoned actor and a celebrity. Back in the day, we used to watch many of the films he did.”

Flipperachi also spoke about how excited he is to see Akshaye Khanna return to the screen in a powerful way. Akshaye’s dance in ‘FA9LA’ has surprised many, and fans have loved seeing him in this energetic avatar.

The rapper added, “It would be nice to see a comeback for him. It would also be great to see Ranveer Singh. These actors have such strong acting and artistic skills that they make you want to watch them and see how they perform. The film is very interesting, and I really want to see it.”

Why ‘Dhurandhar’ is banned in Gulf countries

According to reports, ‘Dhurandhar’ has been banned across several Gulf countries. A Bollywood Hungama report revealed that the film was not released in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

The report stated, “Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE have not released Dhurandhar. There were apprehensions that this would happen as the film is perceived as an ‘anti-Pakistan film’. Also, in the past, such films have failed to procure a release in this region. Yet, the team of Dhurandhar made an attempt, but sadly, all the countries did not approve of the theme of the film. This is why Dhurandhar hasn't been released in any of the Gulf countries.”

About ‘Dhurandhar’

‘Dhurandhar’ features a powerful ensemble cast. Apart from Akshaye Khanna and Ranveer Singh, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and Saumya Tandon. Even without a release in Gulf countries, ‘Dhurandhar’ has performed extremely well at the box office. As reported by Sacnilk, the film collected over Rs 437 crore in 13 days in India. The film is now aiming to cross the Rs 500 crore mark soon.
