A bunch of quirky characters, a hilarious plot and recession as a backdrop... Phas Gaye Re Obama is a must watch!Bhaisaab After stealing the thunder in All The Best, Sanjay Mishra hits top form as Bhaisaab – a gangster who ranks at the bottom of the gang world pyramid. Bhaisaab runs a recession hit gang who is barely making ends meet. They strike gold when they kidnap Om Shastri or so they thought.
Sanjay reveals, “I have always worked in commercial movies and never portrayed such a serious character. That’s why when the director
narrated this script to me, I thought he had gone mad.”
Munni MadamNeha Dhupia plays the much feared man-hating gangster who pompously calls herself ‘Female
Gabbar Singh’. Munni runs a gang of women-only goons which ranks amongst the top ones in the hierarchy of the local mafia. She is equally feared and respected in this male-dominated business. Neha says, “I’m a female dacoit who runs an all-women gang. I think the character is pretty cool. I felt it was much of a challenge and thus I didn’t have second thoughts before I took it up. The whole film is fresh, raw, rustic and humorous, all of which I have never attempted before.”
Dhananjay SinghThe Bhope Bhau of Kaminey is in familiar ground as Dhananjay Singh, the Minister of Animal Welfare and, moreover, the kingpin of the well-oiled machinery that is the local kidnapping industry. He is the epitome of the gangster who graduated to become a politician and aims to become the Chief Minister one day! Amole says, “It’s easy to play a villain, but what I’ve tried to do is build the agony in this man. It would not be right to just make Dhananjay’s character look like a caricature. It has no resemblance to that of Bhope in Kaminey.”
