Speaking to ETimes, Babil shared that he was not allowed to have a script, but write a different script for himself. “I was not allowed to have a script. I was allowed to have a different script. Basically, for 15 days, Anvitaa made me write. From the day I was born till the day the script starts, narrative time — she made me write through my own imagination. And through her, I think (we found) motivators of where Jagan should be going through in life, and we built a life”.

The actor revealed that his character Jagan and he became one person. “And since I wrote that, when I was allowed to have that script, which was a subtext script, Jagan became an inherent part of me. Like I was not trying to find Jagan, anywhere other than just me. So my pain, my emotional memory, all of that, sunk into Jagan. So I felt Jagan’s pain as my pain. In the film you will see that there is a point where Jagan and I become one person.”
Speaking of Qala, the psychological drama touches on important subjects like mental health, family bonding and all things in between. The film also stars Triptii Dimri, Swastika Mukherjee and Amit Sial in pivotal roles. The film is slated to release today.
