According to reports, the first-day ticket prices for the magnum opus have reached as high as Rs 1500 to Rs 2000 in certain parts of the country. What’s more, the Prabhas starrer now boasts of the highest advanced ticket sales ever, a record that was previously held by Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’. Considering the fact that ‘Dangal’ was released in the holiday season - Christmas, the ticket prices rose up to Rs 800. But taking into account that Baahubali's release is during a non-holiday, T-20 season, the fact that tickets are being sold in thousands is nothing short of amazing.

A similar trend was observed last July when Rajinikanth’s ‘

Kabali

’ hit theatres. At the time, the tickets were being sold at exorbitant amounts but the phenomenon was mostly restricted to Tamilnadu. Unlike ‘Kabali’, ‘Baahubali 2’ has taken its craze to a national level. With the fans willing to pay such high amounts, theater owners seem to have no qualms over raising the prices. It will be interesting to see how this crazy trend unfolds.
