Tahira Kashyap Khurrana made a confident debut as a feature film director with Sharmajee Ke Beti, which starred names like Sakshi Tanwar, Divya Dutta, Saiyami Kher and Sharib Hashmi. The director received a lot of acclaim, though there was one question that never left chasing her, and that was when will she be teaming up with her actor husband Ayushmann Khurrana.
In an exclusive interview with ETimes, she opened up about the topic, and said, “ Agar use karna hota to film banane mein 7 saal nahi lagte ( If I just had to use his name, I wouldn’t have taken 7 years to make my first film). But, I need to write a script where he can see himself, and I need to see him do that role ..and he’s a senior, toh thodi filmmein banane ke baad ..phir jaate hai unke pass ( He’s an industry senior, I’ll approach him after making a few films). “
Tahira also revealed, "Both of us are very picky about our work, and what we want to do, and have a lot of clarity about it, and I hope in that clarity, we get the scope of working with each other.”
Ayushmann will next be seen in The Vampires of Vijay Nagar, with Rashmika Mandanna, which is being backed by Dinesh Vijan and is part of his horror-comedy universe which features films like Stree, Bhediya and Munjya. It is directed by Munjya fame Aditya Sarpotdar.
