The character I portray in <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Dil Hai Tumhaara</span> has been etched out so well that I was totally at ease with the role.

Besides, with a hardbound script and a disciplined setting on the sets, I learnt a lot during the making of the movie.<br /><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="">You had an opportunity to work with Rekha in </span><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="" font-style:="" italic="">Dil Hai Tumhaara</span><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="">.</span><br />Unfortunately, I had only one scene with Rekha, but I saw a lot of her on the sets. She is a great actress and a fantastic person. Rekha encouraged me throughout the shooting of <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Dil Hai Tumhaara</span>. I look forward to working with her again.<br /><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="">As a newcomer, how did you deal with the ‘models can’t act’ attitude of certain film-makers?</span><br />In my case, films did not happen by accident. I was approached by film-makers and, after weighing up the pros and cons of the industry, I took the plunge. As far as the ‘models can’t act’ attitude goes, a fair number of models have established themselves in the film industry and, in the process, proved a lot of people wrong. <span style="" font-weight:="" bold="">What criteria do you use when it comes to choosing your roles?</span><br />Working in a film is a learning experience by itself. The fact is that the idea one has about a film before it goes on the floor goes through numerous changes as shooting progresses. As of now, I am very particular about choosing different kinds of roles. In fact, the audience is yet to see the actor in me.<br /><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="">So, what kind of films should the audience expect from you?</span><br />I am working on three projects —Naresh Malhotra’s <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Dil Ka Rishta</span> with Aishwarya, a friend from my modelling days; Vikram Bhatt’s <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Humko Tumse Pyar Hai</span>, with Bobby and Ameesha; and Rajiv Rai’s <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Asambhav</span>. </div> </div>
