', director Ashutosh Gowariker has said that despite the film's commercial failure, he was proud how the film shaped up, while promising to right the wrongs that may have been committed while making the film.

Talking to mass communication students at an institute in Bhopal recently, the filmmaker clarified that he not only consulted with archaeologists but also tried to keep the facts and details as real as possible. He urged audiences not to pay heed to detractors and critics who say that things like costumes and the dialect were not in sync with the era depicted in the film.

Adding that his main motive in 'Mohenjo Daro' was to bring to the silver screen the charm of an era untouched by the film world. He admitted that he did take creative liberties in the script, blending fact with fiction keeping in mind the human element. Gowariker said that despite the criticism and brickbats he has received for the film, he was proud how everything shaped up. According to reports, Gowariker said that he would now try and figure out what went wrong so that those wrongs are not repeated in the future.
