Ashmit Patel, who started his career with Bollywood films and has also been part of reality shows on television, is very happy that the pandemic actually opened doors to many creative minds who could explore different ideas in the web space.
He said, "Pandemic put us through tough times and the BO suffered a lot and film stars could not release their films in theatres.
But, on the other hand alternative platforms gave the much needed boost to technicians, actors, directors whose creativity crossed boundaries and we all could find good work during this period. Smaller budget films, which had talented actors flourished during this period. So, creatively, I feel this is a good time for actors like me, who have been wanting to do different things."
Ashmit added, "I did many web shows in 2020 and I am happy that I have two film projects, too. Working in web or films is quite similar and I enjoy working for both the mediums. I feel that young scriptwriters can experiment and newer concepts are portrayed. Of course, the struggle to find good work has never ceased but I would say now it is not tougher but easier finding work. Competition has doubled and it is bound to, but I am happy that these other platforms are now giving good work and the whole idea about how an actor's life depends on BO has faded in the past two years."
Ashmit got popular with films like Murder, Banaras and Fight Club and Inteha.
