The final rites for legendary singer Asha Bhosle will be conducted on Monday (April 13, 2026) at Shivaji Park in Mumbai with full state honours- her mortal remains placed in a glass casket, draped in the Indian tricolour and adorned with white lilies, in a farewell befitting one of the greatest musical voices the country has ever produced. The 92-year-old icon, who passed away on Sunday due to multi-organ failure after being admitted to Breach Candy Hospital with a chest infection and exhaustion, was mourned by admirers at her residence Casa Grande in Lower Parel before the funeral procession made its way to the crematorium. A ceremonial police salute was also carried out as part of the state honours. Her son, Anand Bhosle, shared that admirers can pay their last respects at her residence, Casa Grande in Lower Parel, before the funeral procession moves to the Shivaji Park crematorium in Dadar, where the last rites will take place at 4 pm.
