When management Guru Arindam Chaudhuri’s Bangla film Dosor was an official entry in to the Cannes Film Festival two years ago, he missed being there. This time, however, he made up for it as he walked the red carpet on the opening day of the festival. He walked the red carpet for the premier of the Hollywood flick, Robin Hood, along with the likes of Salma Hayek and Russell Crowe.
Speaking about his experience at the Cannes Film Festival, Arindam says, “Being at Cannes certainly makes your movie business aspirations go quite a few notches higher.”
Besides making his presence felt on the red carpet, Arindam also spoke at the event. The management guru was invited to Cannes to speak on ‘India as a Shooting Destination’. He created quite a flutter there by saying that sooner or later, most of the Hollywood biggies will be owned either by the Indians or the Chinese, so the West might as well take India very seriously and try to “profit from India” – and he was bang on target, for, this was the focus of the topic there that day.
