Archana Puran Singh reveals the reason why her career is better than Bollywood actresses: 'Aisi konsi heroine hai jo...'

Archana Puran Singh, who is an integral part of ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’, has known Kapil and his group for more than ten years. Since mid-2000 she's been enjoying her role as judge. Archana began her career in the film industry and has been in numerous critically acclaimed movies, such as Saudagar (1991), Agneepath (1990), Jalwa (1987), Aashiq Awara (1993), Shola aur Shabnam (1992), Raja Hindustani (1996), and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998).


While promoting the second season of ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ with DNA India, Archana says that her acting ability has not yet been tapped. "Yes, as an actor, I feel that I need to explore, which is why I am doing films." She also mentioned that with this Netflix series, we now have more time to complete other tasks. Sunil Grover is a talented actor. He's about to leave for London to film his Punjabi movie. We're happy to be in charge of this exhibition as well as more projects in addition to our other endeavours.


Archana said she doesn't regret not being given more opportunities to pursue acting. "I'm not done yet. I'm still here. Mujhe chaar decades se zyada ho gaya. I'm very satisfied, with where I am. What is this ki 'Jo filmein milni chaiye thi ya nahi'. I feel ki jo bhi aapko mile, woh toh aapke haath mein nahi tha. Jo aapko mila hai, usse bahut achi tarah se karna, woh aapke haath mein hai."


Singh further explains why her career has turned out better than that of a number of Bollywood stars. "I've been beautifully blessed with this 15-year-long journey of comedy. Agar mein filmein kar rahi hoti, toh shayad meri yeh journey na hoti. I've noticed that filmon mein itna lamba career muskil hai," she shared.


Archana further added that she could name very few actresses who have been active in the industry for 40 years. She expressed a preference for being relevant today rather than solely focusing on films. She stated that even children recognize her now. Had she concentrated exclusively on films, it is possible that she would have married and retired at home 10 to 15 years later or may have become a producer. However, the love and affection she receives today as a member of this comedy team is something she would never exchange.


On the work front, Archana Puran Singh can currently be seen in the 2nd season of ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’. Archana has also revealed that she has said no to many film offers also due to Kapil Sharma's show.
