Months after signalling the start of her film 'Chakda 'Xpress', Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma on Wednesday, started shooting for the London schedule of her feature film at the iconic Headingley Stadium.
The actress, who touched down in London last week, is set to put the months of training to the tests when she takes over the cricket pitch as former Indian cricket captain Jhulan Goswami.
The actress made the official announcement by sharing a photo of a little pooja ceremony they conducted on the sets. "Sri Ganesh," she wrote and announced the commencement of the shoot saying, "#chakdaxpress schedule begins."
Anushka began filming the upcoming biopic in June 2022. According to the makers, the film traces Jhulan Goswami’s journey as she "moves up the ladder despite the hindrances posed by misogynistic politics to fulfil her dream of playing cricket for India."
Over the past months, the actress has been taking to the cricket pitch to practise her swing and fast bowling technique. Hubby Virat has also been joining her to teach her some of the tricks of the trade.
The film will stream on Netflix in 2023.
