Alia Bhatt: Anushka Ranjan like a dream in debut film

An initiative was started in 2006 by Anu Ranjan and her daughter-actor Anushka Ranjan (BETI's brand ambassador) to redress the wrongs perpetrated on women to the utmost of their capacities. Anushka is extremely sensitive when it comes to social issues related to women and likes giving back to the society.

Taking the most upsetting example of Shabina Khan, who was raped by her own father, Anushka says, 'You cannot help but want to cry and at the same time want the harshest punishment for the person who has committed this heinous crime, especially to their own daughters.'

'I'm glad we got Shabina a job at a parlour and she has managed to get her family a home. We are also taking care of her education simultaneously,' adds the actress.
