Anupria Goenka: I am looking for some dark roles

She’s rubbed shoulders with Bollywood actors like Salman Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff in films like Tiger Zinda Hai, Padmaavat and War respectively. Of late she’s also been riding high on the digital wave with projects like Asur and MX Player’s Aashram. Anupria Goenka is certainly getting attention from the right people and is looking forward to some interesting projects coming her way.
The actress says that after being in the industry for over half a decade she wants to explore varied characters. She says, “I have always been offered intense roles. I am happy that I always got to play roles that depicted a strong woman. But it’s time that I grow and I am looking forward to doing some darker roles. I want to play a mad psychotic person on screen. I want to show my vulnerable side.”
The actress who was seen in the period drama directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, starring Shahid, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone says she would like to explore more such projects. “Yes, I want to do period dramas. Interestingly, comedy is something I haven’t explored so I would like to try my hand at it too.”
In an earlier interview with BT, Anupria had mentioned how she was hoping to get lead role offers.She had said, “From the last one year, I feel confident about pulling off lead roles that have bigger graphs. I feel I will be able to add value and do justice to these roles, where the character graph is layered and touches different emotions.”
