Anupria Goenka: Male actors often fear being judged during romantic scenes

Anupria Goenka, who has done several romantic scenes on screen, sheds light on the emotional effort involved in performing such parts — a side of filmmaking that’s rarely discussed.

Speaking candidly with Mirror, the actress known for her work in the web show Aashram says, “It is very important your co-star and you are on the same page along with the director. I feel that often male actors are the ones who get a little conscious and their heroines have to do double the work.”



Elaborating on this interesting point of view, the Tiger Zinda Hai actress says, “When you are romancing for the camera, your male co-star often becomes conscious and fears being judged and misunderstood. It is extremely important that you have a beautiful chemistry with them and genuine on-screen chemistry stems from this trust and comfort. When that happens, the audience can feel it.”
