Anupam Kher hails India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri as ‘a man of steel’
Actor Anupam Kher has stepped forward to support Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, who has been facing a storm of online trolling. The backlash began soon after India and Pakistan announced a ceasefire agreement, which was later violated by Pakistan.
Instead of staying silent, Kher praised Misri’s calm nature and professional attitude during the press briefings of ‘Operation Sindoor’.
Kher praises Misri’s calm and strength
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Anupam Kher openly applauded Vikram Misri’s composed and thoughtful style during public appearances. Kher’s post was full of appreciation and respect, especially for the way Misri carried himself while representing the country.
He wrote, “Dear #VikramMisri, To see you on the tv screen or on social media has a very calming effect on we Indians. Your briefings come from a place of great strength, inner confidence and a background of being who you are!! Thank you for your calm, composed and compassionate demeanour!! Only a man of steel inside can be like that outside! Jai Hind! @VikramMisri."
This strong message from Kher comes at a time when many people have taken to social media to criticise Misri unfairly
An emotional moment on Instagram
On May 11, Kher had taken Instagram to share an emotional video where he spoke directly to his fans. With watery eyes and a heavy heart, he opened up about the emotions he was feeling after hearing about the sacrifices made by Indian soldiers.
In the video’s caption, he wrote, “Country is the only one that can make you feel strong! Just like that! My mind was a little heavy, so I thought I should talk to you people from my heart. And didn't realise the video got longer! If you like it then watch it completely! If you like it more then share it too! Jai Hind! Hail India! #India #Hindustan.”
Kher also made sure to pay his respects to the soldiers who recently lost their lives while serving the nation. He said, “We lost some brave soldiers recently. Their families have suffered an irreparable loss. When you think of their pain, your own sorrow starts to feel small.”
Kher’s directorial debut headed to Cannes
On the work front, Kher has exciting news as well. His upcoming film, ‘Tanvi: The Great’, is set to have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Market (Marché du Film) during the famous Cannes Film Festival.
