In an recent interactions at FICCI Frames panel discussion, the screenwriter

was asked about Shah Rukh Khan backing out of 'Saare Jahan Se Accha' on which he expressed that SRK opted out of Rakesh Sharma's biopic because he was shaken up by the failure of 'Zero'.

For those who came in now, after 'Zero' bombed at the Box Office last year, there were reports that SRK had backed out of Rakesh Sharma's project which was again had the similar topic of space.

However, according to Anjum, it was the script of 'Zero' which was a bit problematic and not the fact that Bauaa Singh went to

Mars

. He further explained that people always put two and two together. But there can be other reasons for Zero's failure. May be the time wasn't right or may be audiences doesn't wanted to see a disabled as a protagonist. Anjun concluded that there was some issue in the DNA of the script and the failure is not taken by SRK lightly.

According to the reports, Shah Rukh Khan has chosen ‘Don 3’ over ‘Saare Jahan Se Accha’. SRK has backed out of the film completely and the makers are now thinking of casting someone else in the lead. It is being speculated that ‘Don’ franchise helmed by Farhan Akhtar may be the reason behind this.
