Today we all know him as
Anil Kapoor but there was a time when the actor had an unusual habit of changing his names when he started off as an actor.
Throwing more light on the same, Anil Kapoor reportedly said that when he started off as an actor, he was barely getting the kind of roles he wanted to play in the Hindi films. However, when he bagged the role of a leading man in a Telugu film called ‘Vamsa Vruksham’, he thought to himself that he would settle in the south. But retaining his original name would have meant giving out a North Indian flavour.
So going with the place, he named himself AK Rao. However, the actor reportedly bagged a
Mani Ratnam movie called ‘Pallavi Anu Pallavi’ after that. Then he started getting work in Bollywood and things changed. He said that he was okay changing names if that got him work.
He also revealed that for one of the shows he even called himself Achal Kapoor, which is Boney’s real name.
