Anil Kapoor joins YRF spy universe as RAW chief in Alia Bhatt starrer: Report

YRF has been expanding its spy universe with recent releases like 'Pathaan' and 'Tiger 3' have garnering attention. At the moment, Hrithik Roshan starrer 'War 2' is being shot and an untitled thriller starring Alia Bhatt is in the pipeline. A fascinating update has surfaced regarding the upcoming female-led spy film. It's been reported that Anil Kapoor is slated to portray the role of the RAW Chief in Alia's movie, and he's expected to feature in other films within the spy universe as well.

Kapoor, who recently impressed fans with his work in the films like 'Animal' and 'Fighter', is set to embark on a new adventure. As per a recent report by Bollywood Hungama, the actor is gearing up to join the esteemed spy universe crafted by Yash Raj Films.

A source revealed to the portal that Anil Kapoor has joined the YRF spy universe. He will be playing the part of RAW Chief in the most celebrated spy universe, taking the place of Girish Karnad, who has managed to make a cult name for himself with his work in the Tiger franchise.

Not just this Alia film, but there is also speculation about his potential cameo appearance in the Hrithik Roshan-led 'War 2'. The insider further revealed that Kapoor has inked a long-term deal with YRF, suggesting his involvement in nearly every project within the spy universe.

Alongside Alia Bhatt, Sharvari Wagh will also feature in the action-packed thriller, which will be directed by Shiv Rawail.

Recently, reports also suggested that Bobby Deol will be joining the cast as the antagonist and that he's all set to begin shooting in the the second half of 2024.
