movie. He marked his Bollywood debut by playing himself in Akshay Kumar and Anushka Sharma starrer ‘Patiala House’.



The sports drama released in 2011 and featured Akshay in the role of a passionate cricketer. Director Nikkhil Advani was keen to give the movie a realistic touch and managed to rope in Andrew Symonds for a few shots in the field. In the films climax, Akshay Kumar bowled for Andrew Symonds. Apparently Symonds, who thought he’d have to play down his abilities, was impressed with Akshay’s bowling skills.

Beyond films, Andrew Symonds had also entered a popular reality show in India, which was hosted by Salman Khan. He reportedly exited the show to be with his family on Christmas that year.
