Ananya Panday rejects today’s hookup culture; says she believes in 90s-style romance, 'I want my partner’s family to become my family too'

During the trailer launch of her upcoming film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, Ananya Panday spoke candidly about her views on love and relationships, making it clear that her romantic ideals are rooted firmly in the past rather than modern dating trends.

‘I’m a very 90s love story person’

Opening up about her take on romance in today’s time, Ananya said she does not relate to the idea of casual dating. “I’m a very 90s love story person,” the actor shared, adding that fleeting connections do not appeal to her. “I don’t believe in the 2025’s hookup culture.”

Describing herself as deeply family-oriented, Ananya emphasised that emotional connection and commitment matter most to her. “I love my family, and I want my partner’s family to become my family too,” she said, underlining how important togetherness and long-term bonding are to her idea of a relationship.


Ananya revealed that her belief in traditional love is one of the reasons she feels closely connected to her character Rumi in Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, which also stars Kartik Aaryan in the lead role. According to the actor, the emotional depth of the character mirrors her own values when it comes to love and commitment.
